We wanted to share with you our amazing experience on the Rick Steves Best of Venice, Florence & Rome in 10 Days Tour we enjoyed in September 2022 during our honeymoon. This tour was a perfect blend of art, history, culture, and food that takes you on a journey through Italy's three most iconic cities.
The tour starts in Venice, one of the most romantic and captivating cities in the world. You'll be transported back in time as you explore the timeless St. Mark's Square and the magnificent St. Mark's Basilica. The square is a hub of activity, surrounded by historic buildings, charming cafes, and street performers. The basilica is an architectural masterpiece, with its stunning Byzantine mosaics and elegant domes.
Next, we headed to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Here, we got to see Michelangelo's masterpiece, the David, up close and personal. The Uffizi Gallery was something we were looking forward to as you get to see some of the world's most famous works of art, including Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus".
Finally, the tour concludes in Rome, the eternal city. You'll be amazed by the ancient ruins and monuments that are scattered throughout the city. The Roman Forum, Colosseum, and Pantheon are a few of the many highlights you'll see in Rome. The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica are a testament to the city's rich history and religious heritage.
Throughout the tour, you'll be guided by expert local guides who will bring the cities to life with their insightful commentary and knowledge. You'll also enjoy delicious meals, including memorable dinners in local trattorias, and taste some of Italy's full-bodied wines.
